How to add a watermark to photos

Put your name, website or logo on your photos before they go online. Set the look once, check it on the live preview, and apply the same watermark to a whole batch in seconds, without uploading the originals anywhere.

    1. Step 1

      Add your photos

Drop in the images you want to mark. The first one appears in the preview on the right.

    2. Step 2

      Choose text or a logo

Type your text and pick a font style and color, or switch to Logo image and choose a PNG with a transparent background.

    3. Step 3

      Place and style it

Pick one of nine positions or tile it across the whole image, then adjust size, opacity and distance from the edge.

    4. Step 4

      Apply and download

Press Watermark to mark every image the same way, then download them individually or as a ZIP.

    Corner mark or tiled pattern?

A small mark in a corner is the classic choice for portfolios and social posts. It credits you without getting in the way of the picture. Bottom right is the most common spot; bottom left or center work well if the corner is busy.

A tiled watermark repeats your text or logo diagonally across the whole image. It’s much harder to crop or edit out, which makes it the better option for proofs you send to clients before payment, stock previews and product photos that tend to get copied by other sellers. Use a lower opacity (around 25–40%) so the photo can still be judged.

No visible watermark is impossible to remove, but a well-placed one makes reuse obvious and points people back to you.

One setting that fits every photo

The size and margin sliders are measured as a percentage of each image’s shorter side, not in pixels. That means a 6% watermark looks the same on a small portrait photo and a huge landscape one, and it never runs off the edge of a wide image. Long text automatically shrinks to fit inside the margins.

The preview is drawn with exactly the same code that creates your final images, so what you see is what you get. Shadow behind text keeps a white watermark readable on bright skies and pale backgrounds.

Tips for a good logo watermark

    • Use a PNG with a transparent background. A logo on a white rectangle looks like a sticker slapped on top.
    • A white or single-color version of your logo is usually more subtle than the full-color one.
    • Keep it small: 10–20% of the shorter side is plenty for a corner mark.
    • Lower the opacity to 50–70% so it blends in rather than shouting.

Your logo file stays on your device, just like your photos. If your logo needs trimming or a background removed first, crop it with Crop Image.

    Formats and quality

Watermarked images keep their format: JPGs stay JPGs and PNGs keep their transparency. Lossy formats are saved at 92% quality. HEIC photos from iPhones are saved as JPG. To shrink the files for the web afterwards, use Compress Image, and to hide camera and location details too, run them through Remove EXIF Data (saving with a watermark already removes most of it).

    Frequently asked questions

How do I watermark many photos at once?

Add all your photos, set up the watermark once using the preview, and press Watermark. The same text or logo is applied to every image, scaled to suit each one.

Can I use my logo as a watermark?

Yes. Switch to Logo image and choose a PNG, JPG or WebP file. A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result.

Where is the best place to put a watermark?

For general sharing, a small mark in the bottom right corner is the usual choice. To make copying harder, use the tiled option, which repeats the watermark across the whole image.

Will the watermark look the same on different photo sizes?

Yes. Size and margin are set as a percentage of each image’s shorter side, so the watermark keeps the same proportions on small and large, portrait and landscape photos.

    Can I change the font?

You can choose between sans-serif, serif and monospace styles. The tool uses fonts already on your device, so the exact typeface can differ slightly between computers and phones.

Can a watermark be removed by someone else?

Determined people can edit out a small corner watermark. A tiled watermark at moderate opacity is much harder to remove and is the better choice for valuable images.

Are my photos or logo uploaded?

No. The watermark is drawn by your browser, and neither your photos nor your logo leave your device.
