Privacy Policy

Short version: your photos never leave your device. Here are the details.

Last updated: October 18, 2026

The summary

  • Your images are processed in your browser. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
  • We don’t ask for your name or email to use any tool, and we don’t have user accounts.
  • Our analytics are cookie-free and count visits without identifying you.
  • Ads are provided by Google, which may use cookies. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.

1. Who we are

ImageCocoon (https://imagecocoon.com) is operated by Dulanka Katugampala, based in Sri Lanka (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@imagecocoon.com.

2. Your images

When you use a tool, your image is read by code running in your own browser. All processing, including compressing, resizing, converting, cropping and building ZIP files, happens on your device. Your images are not transmitted to our servers or to any third party, and we cannot see, store or recover them. When you close or reload the tab, they are cleared from your browser’s memory.

Photos often contain hidden details such as the camera model, the date taken and sometimes the GPS location. Because your photos never reach us, we never see those details either.

AI tools. Our AI tools (Remove Background, Object Remover, Blur Faces, Passport Photo Maker, Sticker Maker, Upscale Image and Image to Text) and the optional Auto-frame in Crop Image use AI models that also run in your browser. Before first use, we ask your permission to download the model files and the engine that runs them from our own servers. These are program files, the same for everyone; downloading them sends nothing about you or your images. Your browser keeps them in its local storage (Cache Storage) so they don’t need downloading again. You can remove them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

3. Information collected automatically

Hosting. Our website is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Analytics. To understand which pages and tools are popular, we use Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we run ourselves, so the data isn’t shared with an analytics company. It records things like the page you visited, the website that sent you, your browser, your type of device and your country. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites and does not build a profile of you. We also count simple, anonymous tool events, such as a tool being used, a download finishing or the type of an error, along with rounded numbers (for example “2–5 images”). It never receives your images or their file names. We may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works in the same cookie-free way.

4. Advertising

We show ads through Google AdSense to keep ImageCocoon free. Ads never have access to your images.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before advertising cookies are used, through a Google-certified consent tool. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown on the site.

5. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply, and we delete the conversation when it is no longer needed. Please don’t send us your photos; we never need them to help.

6. Cookies

ImageCocoon itself does not set cookies to make the tools work. Your browser may store small preferences (such as a remembered setting) and, if you use the AI tools, the downloaded AI model files locally on your device; these never leave it and contain no information about you. Advertising cookies are described in section 4.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, UK GDPR and California privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we hold almost no personal data, the most likely case is an email you sent us. Just ask and we’ll delete it.

8. Children

ImageCocoon is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
