How the outline is drawn

After the AI cut-out, the tool measures, for every pixel around your subject, the exact straight-line distance to its nearest edge. Pixels within the outline width are filled with your outline color, and the outer border is smoothed so it never looks jagged. This is the same idea professional sticker printers use for their cut lines, and it means the border follows every curve, whisker and finger instead of being a rough blob.

The outline width scales with the size of the subject, so a thick outline looks the same on a tiny photo as on a large one. The shadow is drawn from the outline’s shape, slightly below it, which gives the classic “peeling off the page” look.

PNG, WebP or WhatsApp?

• PNG (full size) keeps perfect transparency and works everywhere: Telegram, Signal, Discord, slides, documents and print shops.
• WebP (full size) is much smaller than PNG with the same transparency, handy for websites and newer apps.

For printing on vinyl or sticker paper, use PNG and tell the print shop to cut along the outline; most can create a cut path from the transparent edge.

Tips for cleaner stickers

Subjects that stand out from their background cut out best: a dark cat on a light sofa, a bright toy on a plain table. Busy backgrounds with similar colors can leave small leftovers, which the Touch up brush removes in seconds. Restore brings back anything the AI trimmed by mistake, such as an ear tip or a shoe lace.

If “Detect automatically” picks the wrong model, set the subject type yourself. People uses a model trained on hair and faces; Pets, products and objects uses a general model. White outlines look best on dark chat backgrounds and colored outlines stand out on light ones, so try both.

Ideas for sticker projects

Pet owners turn their dog’s best expressions into chat reactions. Small shops make stickers of their products for packaging, thank-you notes and social posts. Teachers create reward stickers from class mascots, and families print stickers of grandparents for birthday cards.
